What if we didn’t give? What if we didn’t step outside of our comfort zone? What if we didn’t sacrifice just a little bit of ourselves? The answer is that nothing great would ever happen, the world that we live in would never change, and each of our lives would revolve solely around ourselves – the me, myself, and I. That’s a small and lonely way to live.

Our lives are not meant to be small but we tend to live them in a small way. We tend to think about our needs, our well-being, and our desires without ever giving thought to those around us. It’s just natural to do so. However, God made us to live larger than we are. Not in the way that most people think with wealth and self-indulgence, but with purpose and impact. We each have been specially equipped to make a big impact in the lives of others. We are called to live bigger than ourselves.

It all begins with stepping out of our comfort zone, giving a little of what we have to others whether its in our time or our resources. Living big involves relationships and helping to raise others up as well as ourselves. This is what starts a movement, a movement that transforms the lives around us. Giving to that change makes our lives bigger than just us.

As one individual, you may feel as if you can’t accomplish much. After all we all have demands on our life. We all have demands on our time and our finances. But, when you join up with similarly motivated people you will see mountains begin to move. Collectively, a little of our time, money, and effort can go a long way to make the lives of those around us better. Your “bigness” in giving of yourself could be the answer to somebody’s prayer.

When we live for something larger than ourselves, we live big. When we improve the life of someone else, we live big. When we give to someone knowing that they can never repay us, we live big. How big will your life be?
