Faith in Action – 2018 in Review

2018 was another great year! God moved in mighty ways!

The School for Kimwenza Completed

In 2018, the school for Kimwenza was completed! All six classrooms are now done and being used by the students. Education is key for breaking the cycle of poverty for these children.

A Clean Water Well for Kimwenza

Also in 2018, construction began for a water well for Kimwenza. Flooding destroyed the potable water system, leaving children drawing dirty water from the river. The well includes a filtration system ensuring clean, safe, healthy water, along with solar powered energy and a back up generator so the children don’t have to spend any time without clean water. Construction will be complete in early 2019.

Sharing the Gospel in Kimwenza

In February 2018, Nicole, Felicia, and Laura got to intentionally share the Gospel with the children of Kimwenza through both word and art. Nicole told the children of God’s love and Jesus’s sacrifice, prayed with them, and praised with them. Laura, an artist, made beautiful paintings to display God’s love and sacrifice – art that now hangs in the school. Laura also organized the painting of the school itself, making a more bright and vibrant place for students to learn.

Precious Time with Our Partner

We were also blessed to have our wonderful partner Mama Jacquelin spend time with us in the US. She is full of the Holy Spirit and blessed us all while she was here. We made plans to support her efforts in taking in orphans and giving them both a home and an education. We also celebrated what God has done through providing the structure to do so this year.

In 2018 Live Beyond Words was proud to report a program percentage of 90% and we remain a 100% volunteer run organization.
