Faith In Action – 2021 In Review

2021 was a year for reunification.

2021 was a chance to reconnect in a real way with our partners in D.R. Congo:

Finally Back in Person!

After many months of not being able to travel to DR Congo, board members Amy and Nicole were able to be back in person with our in-country friends and partners. What a joy it was to see them face to face again! Enjoy a few of the moments in the gallery below.

New Partnership!

We are excited to announce a new in-country partner! Papa Dido has a BIG heart for serving others. While doing social work around the capital city of Kinshasa, he identified a great need in the community of Maluku. He set out to establish the Joyce Medical Center to meet the medical needs the of the people living in this community. Papa Dido and his team at this medical center have compassion for serving the vulnerable members of this community.

The Joyce Medical Center serves young and old alike, but a great majority of those seeking care are pregnant mothers and children suffering from malnutrition. The medical team serve as Christ hands and feet as they minister to the needy in this community, and we have joined them in God’s work there. We look forward to seeing how God moves through this partnership and how He uses our faithfulness for His ministry there. You are intived to join us in praying for the medical center and all who pass through their doors that they may come to know and feel the love of Christ.

First Corn Harvest for Kimwenza

One of the biggest challenges for our partner orphanage in Kimwenza is to sustainably feed the children.  Though a partnership with LBW and through your generous donations for input and startup costs, our Kimwenza partner has started a farming program. They recently harvested their first crop of corn!  We continue to partner with them to establish other crops and livestock that can be used for food as well as an income as we move toward self sustainability.

Delphin’s Story – Continued

Delphin by the grace of God has an opportunity to receive the surgery to try and remove the tumor from his brain.  We have connected with a neurosurgeon who specializes in these types of cases in Africa who is willing to perform the surgery.  We are raising funds to cover the medical cost to make this happen.  If you’d like to donate toward this fund, you can do so using the button above.
